IIGB Seminars

star(2015-16 IIGB Seminar List)

The Institute sponsors seminars, symposiums and workshops on key topics featuring leading experts, which provide a forum for scientists and students to discuss novel ideas and techniques.  In order to attract the best attendance, secure optimal venues, and promote maximal educational and research benefits, IIGB, CEPCEB and CIDVR seminars are all scheduled on a rotating basis biweekly. Below is information concerning the membership and roles of committees that coordinate seminar activities within the Institute. Please feel free to contact seminar coordinators with ideas for invited speakers.

IIGB Seminar Series

2016-17 Faculty Coordinator(s):

IIGB seminars are devoted to systems biology and high-throughput genomics across all organisms. This seminar series features prominent speakers in the field.

CEPCEB Seminar Series

2016/17 Faculty Coordinator(s):
  • Meng Chen: Dept. of Botany & Plant Sciences
  • Wenbo Ma:: Dept. of Plant Pathology & Microbiology

Established in 2002, the Center for Plant Cell Biology (CEPCEB) seminar series (BPSC252: Special Topics in Botany) allows prominent speakers as well as internal faculty and postdocs the opportunity to present and discuss noteworthy research discoveries in the fields of plant cell and molecular biology and genomics.

CIDVR Seminar Series

2015-16 Faculty Coordinator(s):

Started in 2005, the Center for Infectious Disease Vector Research (CIDVR) continues to bring leading as well as young researchers together to discuss seminal discoveries related to molecular biology and the genomics of disease vectors. The CIDVR seminar series presents and discusses topics related to the study and control of arthropod-vector borne diseases, and in the case of diseases such as malaria, the vertebrate host aspect of parasite development.
