Research Summary:

Our research centers on two interrelated questions: how do inherited differences arise in natural populations and why do they persist? Specifically, we are interested in how mutation generates new differences in DNA sequence, how these differences translate into phenotypic variation, and how evolution acts to shape the distribution of this variation. Our work is split between the collection and computational analysis of large-scale genomic datasets and the molecular analysis of specific DNA sequence variants. Our studies focus on natural and experimental populations of plants to elucidate the molecular bases of evolutionary changes.
